With over 30 years of experience gardening in the Napa Valley, I can help with all aspects of gardening. I have a educational background in botany, an artistic background in photography and I am bilingual (English/Spanish).

I have knowledge of and experience with all types of plants that do well in Napa County, from large trees tto summer annuals. I know which plants will resist common insects and diseases and are right for our climate, reducing the need for labor, chemical use and losses due to inappropriate planting. I believe in planting "the right plant in the right place".

I have experience with all sizes of gardens, including a restaurant garden and have worked for over 20 years managing a three acre estate garden in the Napa Valley.

I have knowledge of drip components and electric timers and can help with irrigation scheduling. Water wasted by poor watering practices is a major gardening expense.

I have years of experience with growing vegetables, maintaining small fruit orchards and growing herbs for local restaurant use. I can help with pests and diseases, schedules and sprays.

Water is an extremely important and expensive resource in our Mediterranean climate with a dry growing season. Using drip irrigation, choosing drought-tolerant plants and grouping plants by water use are great ways to conserve water.

In this age of wildland disappearing to development, it is important that we create habitat for all types of wild species. Attracting birds and butterflies to your garden adds a very enjoyable aspect to the garden. I can help with habitat gardening and growing food plants for these beautiful creatures.
